Walks Greenspaces and Countryside
Battlefield Heritage Park - Two circular routes at the site providing opportunities for able bodied and less mobile users with easy, level routes, wheelchair accessible.
Bog Mine and Visitor Centre Stiperstones - Disabled visitors can now enjoy full access to the centre which now provides disabled parking, access ramps and a disabled toilet.
Colemere Countryside Heritage Site - Green Flag Award - easy access path around lake - also see this site
Corbett Easy Access Trail - Visitors with wheelchairs, mobility scooters and buggies should find this walk suitable.
Countryside Trails - We have featured our top ten trails for Shropshire
Haughmond Hill - Wheelchair accessible picnic benches available. Excellent access from car park to paths. Disabled parking spaces available.
Llanymynech Heritage Area - The site, which is close to the Montgomery Canal, has an excellent series of access paths. Access from the hard, level car park to the surfaced path network is excellent with few gradients.
Pontesbury Walks (stile free) - 2 walks from Pontesbury
Stanmore Countryside Site - Stanmore has an excellent network of pathways, which are all on level ground. This makes the park an ideal terrain for pushchairs and wheelchairs alike.
The Mere (Ellesmere) - For almost their entire length, the paths around the Mere are surfaced, broad and well maintained - Suitable for mobility scooters - Disability parking spaces available
The Stretton Hills (Church Stretton) - There is easy access to the Chalet Pavilion for wheelchair users and disabled visitors and some parking space immediately outside the building. There is an adapted lavatory in the Tearoom. Wheelchair users may also reach some viewpoints by car on the Long Mynd outside Carding Mill Valley.
Walkmill Meadows (Market Drayton) - Easy, reasonably level walking on surfaced paths suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Benches present
Country Parks
Onny Meadows Country Park - There is a hard surface path provided around site, ideal for wheelchair use.
Severn Valley Country Park - Severn Valley Country Park is one of Shropshire’s finest country parks and was the first park in Shropshire to achieve the prestigious Green Flag Award. Easy access trail designed for all abilities, including a fully accessible bird hide.
Whitchurch Waterways Country Park - Walking - level easy walks with mostly hard surfaced tracks
Nature Reserves
Donington and Albrighton LNR - An extensive Path network to allow people to explore the nature reserve. Most sections are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs
Ifton Meadows LNR - a formal route to the viewpoint provides easy walking and is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Stiperstones NNR - The all ability trail is a broad, fairly level, well-surfaced track running along the southern edge of the Reserve for 500 metres. The track continues for another 250 metres before becoming difficult and rutted
