Walks Greenspaces and Countryside
Abbey Lakes (Up Holland) - Wheelchair friendly paths are indicated on the map.
Alkincoats Park (Colne) - Green Flag Award - Many of the footpaths are wheelchair friendly. There is a disabled toilet in the park's pavilion
Amberswood and Low Hall - Some of the footpaths around Amberswood can be used by disabled visitors, but full access is not currently offered
Arnside and Silverdale (12 Easy Access Walks) - highlights 12 routes that are wheelchair/pushchair friendly. - Arnside and Silverdale AONB
Barrowford Park - Green Flag Award - Many of the footpaths are wheelchair friendly. Disabled toilets are available at the Heritage centre and Bowling Pavilion (in season). Disabled car parking bays are available at the Heritage Centre entrance to the park.
Clowbridge Reservoir (Burnley) - wheelchair friendly - some paths suitable for assisted wheelchair users
Fairy Glen (Appley Bridge) - Wheelchair friendly paths are indicated on the map.
Forest of Bowland Tramper Trails - the Tramper is a specially designed four-wheel drive all-terrain electric buggy, which can be used off road and even on rough ground, mud and grass.
Happy Mount Park (Morecambe) - Access has been improved to allow easier wheelchair use.
Haslingden Grane (Blackburn) - wheelchair friendly - Calf Hey trail suitable for assisted wheelchair users.
Heyhead Park (Brierfield) - Green Flag Award - All paths are wheelchair friendly. Disabled toilets are available within the Bowling Pavilion (in season)
Marsden Park (Nelson) - Green Flag Award - Many of the paths and walkways are wheelchair friendly, with a disabled footpath from Hallam Road connecting to Walton Lane. There are disabled parking bays situated in front of Marsden Old Hall, also Mother and Baby changing facilities. Sensory Garden - with tactile path finders (we are in the process of recording an audio trail)
Platts Lane Lake (Burscough) - Wheelchair friendly paths are indicated on the map.
Rivington (Chorley) - wheelchair friendly - some paths suitable for assisted wheelchair users
Ruff Wood (Ormskirk) - Wheelchair friendly paths are indicated on the map.
Scorton - Priory Trails (Preston) - A circular trail with two optional extensions. Trail 2 is a pleasant 'ramble' in its own right, starting from Scorton village.
Stanah Circular Walk (Thornton Cleveleys) - A gentle walk through the lush Wyre Estuary Country Park and along the coast. Easy terrain for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and perfect for spotting the rich birdlife.
Sunnyhurst Woods (Blackburn) - Low mobility path and disabled parking
Tawd Valley Park (Skelmersdale) - Wheelchair friendly paths are indicated on the map.
Three Sisters Recreation Area - Some of the footpaths around here can be used by disabled visitors, but full access is not currently offered
Towneley Hall (Burnley) - 520 metres. it is a circular route with plenty of seating and it is within easy reach of the Hall .Accessible Toilets. No admission charge. Refreshment facilities. Car parking available.
Trans Pennine Trail - The Trans Pennine Trail is mapped and signed all the way, mainly traffic free and is surprisingly level considering the dramatic scenery along the way. Easy gradients and surfaced paths make many sections suitable for families, gentle exercise and people using wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Valley Gardens (Barnoldswick) - Green Flag Award - Many of the footpaths and walkways in the park are wheelchair friendly.
Victoria Park (Nelson) - Green Flag Award - Many of the footpaths and walkways in the park are wheelchair friendly.
Walverden Park (Nelson) - Green Flag Award - Many of the footpaths are wheelchair friendly.
Wresdale Wheels for All (Forest of Bowland) - Tramper trails around Scorton. The Scorton area is part of the Forest of Bowland AONB and it has fantastic views across Morecambe Bay and Lancaster.
Wyre Estuary Country Park (Green Trail) - 1 hour trail - accessible track
Wyre Estuary Country Park (Yellow Trail) - 30 min. trail- accessible track
Wyreside Trail (Thornton Cleveleys) - The Wyreside Trail was first opened in 1992 and is a circular walk which has been specially designed to be suitable for people with visual impairments.
Yarrow Valley Visitor Centre - The centre has been designed and built to allow full wheelchair access. Accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are available.
Country Parks
Beacon Country Park (Up Holland) - Green Flag Award - Tramper Trail and tramper available - Disabled toilets.
Beacon Fell Country Park (Preston) - three low-mobility trails, 6 tables suitable for wheelchair access , 2 Tramper buggies, Radar key accessible toilet.
Pennington Flashes Country Park - Most paths are suitable for wheelchair users especially the main nature reserve circuit. All bird hides have level or ramped access and a suitable inclusive view slots.
Witton Country Park (Blackburn) - Green Flag Award - Low mobility scooters (tramper vehicles) are available for hire from the visitor centre. The aim is to widen access to the countryside for less able bodied park users
Wycoller Country Park (Colne) - the visitor centre and the ground floor is accessible by wheel chair - please see the website for access details of the site also see this site Trampers can be hired from Wycoller Country Park.Disabled toilet facilities
Nature Reserves
Brockholes Reserve (between Preston and Blackburn)- an old quarry site transformed to nature reserve - visitor centre - accessible trail
Leighton Moss (RSPB) Reserve (Carnforth) - (Charges) - Choose from a selection of trails and hides, most of which are suitable for wheelchairs, and get right to the heart of the reedbed. There are 8 km of trails on the nature reserve. There is a bird-feeding station 50 m from visitor centre, down 1:15 and 1:40 gradients with an adverse camber; the path is surfaced with compacted gravel/rolled stone.
Wigan Flashes LNR - Paths are suitable for wheelchair use. LWT are in the process of making gates accessible throughout the site.
