Accessible Countryside for Everyone (ACE) is an independent voluntary project, it is not a sales platform, it does not endorse products, it is here to provide information and promote accessibility to leisure in the countryside of England – primarily aimed at those with mobility issues, there carers and families.

England has some of the most fantastic countryside, from mountains and valleys to rolling hills, scenic coast, wooded valleys and open moors.

There are thousands of miles of public footpaths, bridleways, green lanes, trails and tracks however I have found that so little appears to be accessible to those using wheelchairs or mobility scooters, parents with buggies or those with mobility impairment who find stiles difficult to negotiate.

I am not able to remove the obstacles but I can publicise the places that are accessible. We all have a right to enjoy the countryside and my hope is that this site will help in making it more accessible to more people. . . Enjoy. . . The Countryside IS for Everyone.

On the site you will find details of walks and countryside places that I believe are accessible by those with restricted mobility, wheelchair, pushchair and mobility scooter users - but I do not have the resources to check every one and rely on information provided - please check locally before travelling.

The ACE website has been around since 2011, it developed from simply listing accessible places to a comprehensive disability resource but it became too much for me to manage and the Covid pandemic of 2020-21 also had an impact on me and so I have re-launched the website taking it back to its original purpose of providing info on accessible walks and countryside places. I have retained some of the ancillary pages and reviewed the content and links. As at the end of 2021 everything should be up to date.

A new look and fresher feel. The new look should be more mobile friendly – here is to the next 10 years.
